Wanda Etheleen Johns, 79, of Cave City died March 31, 2003, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Nov. 13, 1923, in the Love community in Izard County, she was the daughter of Frank and Fanny Roberts Sharp. She was a home health aide and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of Evening Shade First Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for more than 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and, most of all, spending time with her family. She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Conway Johns, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law -- Dale and Pam Johns, and Van and Nancy Johns, all of Evening Shade; three daughters and sons-in-law -- Patricia Royal, Gail and Jerry McCall, and Nelleta and Danny Crumley, all of Cave City; a brother, John W. Sharp of Searcy; a sister, Marquite Jackson of Ash Flat; nine grandchildren -- James Dale Royal, Ginger Clark, Jerry Dale McCall, Randall McCall, Kevin Johns, Angela Royal, Michael Crumley, Cynthia Crafton and Gwen Wissel; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Johns; and a sister, Freda Fowler.
The funeral was April 2 at First Baptist Church of Evening Shade with Robert Hutchinson and Larry Weaver officiating. Burial was in Bear Creek Cemetery located west of Evening Shade.
Pallbearers were James Royal, Jerry Dale McCall, Randall McCall, Kevin Johns, Michael Crumley and Jimmy Crafton.
Honorary pallbearers were John Ables, Lynn Westmore-land, Ram Wissel, Lonnie Clark and Brien Sutherland.
