Woodrow Wilson Matheny, 88, of Cave City died Nov. 20, 2002, at Cave City Nursing Home.
Born June 17, 1914, at Cave City, he was the son of Dottie and Nora Hamilton Matheny. He was a retired service station owner and operator. He was a member of Eastside Southern Baptist Church in Cave City.
Survivors include his wife, Lenell Edgar Matheny; a daughter, Claudia Dean Matheny Davis; a grandson, Bobby Dean Davis; two granddaughters -- Patricia Gibson and Tracy Barrett, both of St. Louis; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers -- Marcus Matheny, John Matheny, Harry Matheny and Leon Matheny; and four sisters -- Maudie Gordon, Marie Dawson, Francis Burge and Edna Perkey.
The funeral was Nov. 23 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Gary Wallace and Lynn Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery at Sidney.
Pallbearers were Bobby Dean Davis, Colbert Crouch, Ricky Bowden, Wayne Perkey, Felix Smith and Shane Davis.
Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
