William Fredric McGowan, 66, of Bono died April 25, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born Sept. 27, 1936, in Bono, he was the son of Willie and Clara Golden McGowan.
He was a member of Herman Baptist Church. He had lived in the Bono area all of his life and was retired from Riceland Foods.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Turner McGowan; a son, Kenny McGowan of Pocahontas; a sister, Ellen Holladay of Bono; four grandchildren -- Tristan McGowan of Bono, Samantha White of Jonesboro, Justin McGowan of Hardy, and Chancey McGowan of Hardy; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cynthia Finley.
The funeral was April 27 at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel in Jonesboro with Jim Duffel officiating. Burial was in Herman Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clint McGowan, Terry Holladay, Mark McGowan, Kurron Turner, Avery George and Ronnie Slaven.
Honorary pallbearers were Harvey Hudspeth, Jay Kaffka, Louis Lewallen, Boyce Bonhan, Kenny Ellenburg, Bert McGowan and Bob McGowan.
