William "Pete" Roach

William Henry "Pete" Roach, 83, of Cave City, died Dec. 11, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was born March 10, 1923, at Sandtown, Ark., the son of Edwin and Eva (Carter) Roach. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in Morton, Ill., served in the United States Army from February 1943 to November 1945 and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Monell Roach; five brothers, Paul Lamon Roach, Archie Neal Roach, Jay A. Roach, Walter Dean Roach and Brook Roach; six sisters, Ruby Fay Davis, Mollie Alice Baxter, Vida Magdeline Wilkins, Robbie Roach, Gladys Pool and Jane Nieman.

Survivors include one brother, Darren Roach of Sandtown; two sisters, Ida Bell, Baxter and Oma Fullbright, both of Batesville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held Dec. 14 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Jeff Holland and Bro. Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Batesville, with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers were Ray Neil Fulbright, Billie Fulbright, Darrell Fulbright, Warren Baxter, J.W. Roach and Jim Hastings.

Honorary pallbearer was Charles Hastings.
