William "Bill" Glenn Campbell, 60, of Cave City, Ark., died Sept. 20, 2007, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born March 13, 1947, at Batesville, the son of Henry Hubert Campbell and Sarah Virginia Blankenship Campbell.
He worked for Civil Service for eight years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 21 years, working as a mechanic while in the service. He was a member of Sidney Baptist Church and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.He was a hard working and talented man who could fix anything. He rebuilt cars and worked on engines and loved to tinker. He also loved to travel and had been to Alaska, Japan and Belgium.Survivors include: his wife, Ora Jane Ford Campbell of Cave City; two daughters, Tammy Jane Hicks of Beebe and Sarah JoAnn Campbell of Cave City; two brothers, Clay Campbell of Evening Shade and Paul Campbell of Zion; two sisters, Sue Romero of Tucson, Ariz., and Cleva Jane Tapia of Colorado Springs, Colo; three step-grandchildren, Candice Hicks, Christopher Hicks and Patrick Hicks; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Campbell and James Campbell.Funeral services were held Sept. 24 at Sidney Baptist Church in Sidney with Alvin Wiles and Boyce Gayle Johnson officiating.
