William T. "Willie" Manry, 91, of Agnos died Jan. 13, 2005, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Battleaxe, Jackson County, Ark., he was the son of Perry and Nicie Riley Manry.
He married Mamie Ardell Godwin Sept. 17, 1933, in Agnos. They had six children.
Manry was employed by the Highland School District as a mechanic and bus driver until his retirement in the 1980s. He was a farmer and a member of Agnos Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for many years. He was on the board of directors of the Agnos Cemetery Association and a caretaker of the Manry Cemetery.
He is survived by his children -- Fern (Kelmer) Johnson of Paragould, Mildred (Ben) Karpowicz of Horseshoe Bend, Billie Sue (Jim) Horton of Agnos, Carrol (Linda) Manry of Mount Pleasant, Connie (Dale) Godwin of Agnos, and Karla (Brett) Carroll of Flippin; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a grandson, Bobby Mack Tharp; a granddaughter, Lisa Gail Horton; three brothers -- Richard, Coy and Troy Manry; six half brothers and sisters.
The funeral service as held Jan. 15 at Agnos Church of Christ with burial at Manry Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the Manry Cemetery.
