Zelma Flolene (Baxter) Roach, 93, of Sandtown died July 20, 2006, at the Cave City Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1912, at Pine Hill, Ark., to Ervin and Ella (McTigue) Baxter. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Pools Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at Sandtown.
Survivors include one son, J.W. Roach of Sandtown; one daughter, Mary K. Roach Holland of Conway; two sisters, Emily McDoniel of Batesville and Mary Edna Horn of Cave City; three grandsons, Joe Roach of Fort Worth, Texas, Jason Holland of Abilene, Texas, and Jeff Holland of Sandtown; two granddaughters, Janet Landers and Angela Ring, both of Cave City; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Jay A. Roach; two brothers, Austin Baxter and Maurice Baxter; and one sister, Lavon Wood.
The funeral services were held July 22 at Pools Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at Sandtown with Bro. Hoover Lewis and Bro. Jeff Holland officiating. Burial followed at Lee's Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown, with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Joe Roach, Jason Holland, Carl Ring, Keary Landers, Rick Ring, Dustin Westmoreland and Ditzler Roach.
