Eletta May Medlock, 91, of Walnut Ridge, Ark., died Friday, May 9, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge. She was born on Sept. 21, 1916, at Cave City, Ark., the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Goodman Fleming.
She was married to Lacie Medlock on June 20, 1935, at Kings Mill, who preceded her in death in March, 1970. She was a homemaker and of the church of Christ faith.
Survivors include: three sons, L.F. Medlock of Hardy, Eddie Medlock of Salem and Larry Medlock of Black Rock; seven daughters, Lois Dowdy of Jonesboro, Bernice Parrish of Walnut Ridge, Carolyn Conley of Black Rock, Kay Collins and Judith Rutledge both of Imboden, Joyce Howard of Ravenden and Diane Collins of Hardy; a half sister, George Fletcher of Ash Flat; four half brothers, David Fleming of Missouri, Danny, Homer and Eugene Fleming all of Ash Flat; a step-brother, Billy Watts of Oklahoma; two step-sisters, Mary Simms of Missouri and Johnnie Cagle of Fort Smith; 39 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Ash Flat church of Christ with James Goodman officiating. Burial followed at the Maxville Cemetery near Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of the Higginbotham Funeral Home of Hardy.
