As has seemingly become an annual spring event, a golfer from Thayer High School is headed to Missouri State University-West Plains to hit the links for the Grizzlies next fall.

Matt Kojdecki signed a letter of intent last week to golf for MSU-WP, becoming the fourth Bobcat to ink with the college.

Kojdecki is an A+ student, and in addition to knowing his way around the links, he was also a key member of the Thayer Bobcats football team that reached the state championship game this past fall. Kojdecki also played basketball for Thayer and will have two years of school at MSU-WP paid for.

According to MSU-WP Head Golf Coach Phil Wade, Kojdecki's future looks bright.

"I'm excited to have Matt on the team. He's a good golfer and a good student," he said. "And Thayer High School has been good to the MSU-WP golf program. This makes the fourth golfer in the past three years that we've added to our team. The coaches here, Cliff Hawkins and Butch Steed, prepare their golfers well for the next level."
