Lorene B. Wheeler, 86, of Manhattan, Kan., formerly of Thayer and West Plains, was born Nov. 30, 1921, in Alton, Mo., the daughter of the late Fred Dotson and Nola Stogsdill Dotson. She died May 6, 2008, in Manhattan, Kan.
She was united in marriage on Dec. 25, 1940, in Couch, Mo., to James Marvin Wheeler, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1999.
She was a member of the Talking Rocks Baptist Church of West Branson, Mo.
She is survived by: two sons, Harold Wheeler and wife, Pat of Nixa, Mo. and Randy Wheeler of Florence, S.C.; one daughter, Connie Sullivan and husband, John of Manhattan, Kan.; six grandchildren, Scott Sullivan, Dana Sullivan Dyer, Jennifer Wheeler Lashley, Clay Wheeler, Ashley Wheeler McBride and Mark Horton; and 10 great-grandchildren;
She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; and two infant sisters.
Funeral services were held on May 10 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, Mo., with Bro. Delbert Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of West Plains.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Talking Rocks Baptist Church in West Branson, Mo., and can be left at the funeral home.
