Bobcat golfers fifth in state; Kojdecki 37th overall

The Thayer Bobcat golf squad wrapped up another successful season with a fifth-place finish at the Class 1 State Tournament May 12-13 at Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club in Bolivar.

The Cats carded a two-day total of 719; 359 on day one and 360 on day two.

Tipton won the tourney with a 657, while Lee's Summit Community Christian finished second with a 686. Greenwood was next with a 701, while Rock Port ended in fourth place with a 708.

Tipton's Trey Allison, Newburg's J.D. Nash and Windsor's Josh Sadler tied for medalist honors with a 152 each.

Thayer's Matt Kojdecki tied for 37th overall with a 177 (90/87).

Lance Schneider carded a two-day 181 (93/88), good for a tie for 51st place. Jeremy Todd shot a 184 (90/94) and finished tied for 67th. Gaston Orahood tied for 80th with a 191 (99/92).
