Don David McBride, 83, of Aurora, Mo., died Friday, May 9, 2008, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Mo.
Don was born on Oct. 9, 1924 in Salem, Ark., to John and Alta (Smith) McBride. He was a graduate of the West Plains High School, West Plains, Mo., a World War II Army Veteran, a Mason with the Shiner's of Mountain Home, Ark., was director of meats with Associated Wholesale Grocers of Springfield, retiring in 1992, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora.
On June 22, 1962, he was united in marriage with Sybil Hutson in Aurora.
He is survived by: his wife, Sybil Hutson of the home; five daughters, Davene Sharp and husband, Tom of Centerton, Ark., Connie Morrison and husband, Jim, of Harlingen, Texas, Brenda Grider and husband, Henry of Aurora, Jeanie Williams and husband, Kenny of Halltown, Mo., Donna Cruse and husband, Danny of Hardy, Ark.; two sons, Donnie Criswell and wife, Nelda, of Richmond, Texas and David Wood of Aurora; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; special friends, Bill Hamilton, Harold Garrison and Rick Rugee.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; one great grandson, Adam French; one brother, Bob McBride; and one sister, Margie Langston.
Funeral services were held at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home of Aurora, Mo. Burial followed in the Maple Park Cemetery.
