It took a couple of days to complete, and a change of scenery along the way, but the Trinity Christian Warriors topped Izard County 8-6 in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A State Baseball Tournament.
The contest started May 10 in Melbourne, but was suspended due to weather after three-and-a-half innings, with the Warriors up 4-1.
Play resumed May 12 in Brockwell and the Cougars promptly locked the game at 5-all in the bottom of the fourth.
But Izard County couldn't hold on and Trinity Christian won 8-6.
Steven Walker and Ethan Porter posted two hits each, including a double apiece, to lead Izard County at the dish.
