Donald H. Hood, 56, of Cave City, Ark., formerly of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Dec. 20, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born March 13, 1947, in Blytheville, Ark., he was the son of Allen Hood and Golden Thompson Hood. He married Carolyn Brown on Nov. 9, 1990, in Crittenden County, Ark. He worked most of his life as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of the home; a son, Richard Hood of Haynes City, Fla.; two step-sons -- Darrel Dickinson of Dardanelle and Bryan Dickinson of Tucker; a sister, Scottie Collins of Deer Park, Texas; a step-grandson, Jonathan Dewitt; and five step-granddaughters -- Amber Johnston, Ann Anderson, Cathy Martin, Patsy Lebeau, and Susan Oprean.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers -- Frank and Kelly Hood.
A memorial service was Dec. 27 at Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with Pastor Gary Wallace officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
