Josiah Jones of Salem was elected to fill a state officer-at-large position recently at the state 4-H O-Rama held at the University of Arkansas.
Three other state officers-at-large positions and the president's position were also filled.
During the coming year Jones will teach archery workshops around the state and help start youth archery clubs. He will represent Fulton County at events throughout the year, starting with the Mid-South Fair in Memphis.
At the election, candidates were required to have a table display, attend a "meet the candidate" rally and give a campaign speech in front of 300 people. Jones received a standing ovation after his speech.
The last time Fulton County was represented in a state officer position was in the 1970s by Gus Pace of Mammoth Spring.
