Amanda L. Clark, 100, of Thayer, Mo., died April 12, 2005, in West Plains, Mo.
Born Aug. 1, 1904, in Oregon County, Mo., she was the daughter of Fred John Bowers and Sarah Amanda Stark Bowers.
She was united in marriage on Jan. 23, 1923, in Oregon County, to Edmond Waife Clark, who preceded her in death May 12, 1964.
She was a Christian and was of the Freewill Baptist faith and attended Clifton Freewill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include seven grandchildren -- Gary Clark of Thayer, Keith Clark of Bakersfield, Calif., Mark Clark of Kansas City, Mo., Lisa Clark of Kansas City, Patrick Clark of California; Charles Clark of Dallas, Texas, and Billy Richey of Dallas; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant daughter; one daughter, Betty Lou Clark; three sons, J.D., Robert E., and Donald Lee Clark; two granddaughters -- Pam Clark and Shelly Richey; eight brothers -- David, George, Orville, Marvin, Charley, Delbert, Samuel and Leroy Bowers; and three sisters -- Ann Cantrell, Pearline Ford and Azie Bowers.
The funeral service was held April 15 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with the Rev. Clarence Burton officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
