George Roy Crotts

George Roy Crotts, son of the late Grover Cleveland Crotts and Mary Spurlock Crotts, was born April 12, 1934, in Viola, Ark.

He died April 11, 2005, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 70 years.

He attended Viola High School and worked on the family farm until his father's death.

He worked on the Arcadia Farms in Northfield, Ohio, for several years then moved to Gamaliel, Ark., and went to work for Ranger Boat Company and later for Capitol Mercury Shirt Factory in Gassville, where he was employed for over 28 years.

He moved to Bakersfield, Mo., a few years ago, and more recently to Brookhaven Nursing Home in West Plains.

Although he never married he remained close to his family.

He was a member of Bakersfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include his brother, Edward L. Crotts of Washington, Ill.; his sisters -- Della Minge of Bakersfield, Mo., Drucilla (Mike) Tiliakos of Longwood, Fla., and Dorotha Roberts of Viola; eight nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews; two great-great- nieces; and one great-great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by three brothers -- Sidney and Jimmy Crotts and one who died in infancy; one sister, Kathleen Crotts; and his father and mother.

Services were April 14 at Enterprise Baptist Church, with burial following in Pickren Hall Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home, of Salem, Ark.
