Alice Louise Traw, 66, of Salem, daughter of the late Ed and Emma Bennett Bates, was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Couch, Mo. She died April 5, 2005, at her home.

She married Roy Traw on April 13, 1955, in Hardy, Ark. She was employed by Tri County Shirt Factory in Salem for many years, Springfield Pie Co., in Springfield, Mo., pastry chef for the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Thayer, and was co-owner and operator of the Ozark Cafe in Salem, and Traw Enterprises.

She was a member of the New Life Tabernacle in Salem.

Survivors include her husband, Roy; their children -- Nicky (Treda) Traw of Mammoth Spring, Debbie (Larry) Olson of Webb City, Mo., Janet (Robert) Cunningham of Mammoth Spring, Jacky (Jeanne) Traw and Tamela (Ronnie) Pringle, all of Willow Springs, Mo., and Jimmy Traw of Salem; brothers -- Joe Bates of Mexico, Mo., and Clint and Dallas Bates, both of Thayer, Mo.; sisters -- Virginia Woods of Mammoth Spring, Edith Robinson of Thayer, Verble Marquette of Mexico, Mo., Onie Williams of Alton, Mo., and Edna Cloven of Mexico, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several foster children.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lexie K. Caprie Traw and her parents.

A graveside service and burial was held April 8 at the Flint Cemetery near Mammoth Spring with arrangments under the direcstion of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
