John Curtis Christen-berry, 85, of Cave City, Ark., died Sept. 9, 2004, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born June 24, 1919, at Grange, Ark., to Roylan and Etta Christenberry.
He was a farmer and store clerk.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was a member of the Mount View Baptist Church east of Cave City, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Lavaughn Christenberry of the Cave City Nursing Home; one daughter, Tammy Jolley of Cave City; one grandson, Michael Jolley of Cave City; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, A.A. Christenberry; and two sisters -- Adelaide Ring and Elsie Jackson.
A graveside memorial sevice was held Sept. 12 at the Parsley Cemetery located east of Cave City with Bro. Grayden Milligan officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
