A 60th wedding anniversary surprise party was given in honor of David and Geneva Sorrell at the Myrtle Activity Center Sept. 7 by the Myrtle senior citizens and members of the Sorrells' family.
David Sorrell and Geneva Clark were married Sept. 6, 1944, and have resided on their farm at Myrtle since he was discharged from the U.S. Army in February 1946.
An anniversary meal was provided with a spirit of devotion and celebration with the following attending: Gordon and Bertha England; Clifton Lee and Mary June King; Fred and Merry Sorrell; Carl and Joan Benz; Susie Roberts; Delsia Crawford; Clarence James; John Clark; the Rev. Ralph Douglas; Joe and Ida Kendall; Bob and Mary Sorrell; Boyd, April, Shelby and Mallory Sorrell; Darrin and Angela Sorrell; Cathy Sorrell; Dessa and Eli Judd; Stacee Fisk and children -- Mary Lauren, Tanner and Kirkland; and honorees, David and Geneva Sorrell.
