Knights of Columbus slate golf scramble

Thursday, August 19, 2004

The Knights of Columbus at Horseshoe Bend will hold their first ever golf tournament Aug. 21 at Turkey Mountain Golf Course. There is a maximum of 44 teams and this is a three-person scramble with a $105 entry fee per team. Both men and ladies are welcome.

Registration, coffee and doughnuts will begin at 7 a.m. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m, with the number of entries determining the number of flights.

Each flight pays $180 first place, $150 second place and $120 third place; #18 hole-in-one pays $10,000 cash. There will be prizes for any hole-in-one by amateur golfers on three par 3s. Door prizes will also be given away.

Mulligans will be available at $5 for three. There will be a prize for closest-to-the-pin on the 18th hole and the longest putt on the 16th hole. Players age 70 or older will hit from the red tees except for the par 3s. Hamburgers and hot dogs, along with drinks will be available. The Knights of Columbus will use the proceeds to help St. Mary's Church assist the needy in the community.

For pre-registration contact Chuck Dennis at 670-5610 or Turkey Mountain Pro Shop.
