Scharles C. Lane, 68, was born Nov. 26, 1935, at Putnam, Okla., the son of Thomas Hubert and Sophie Clarette Martin Lane died Aug. 9, 2004, at his home at Thomasville, Mo.
He attended Adamson High School in Dallas. He married Della Nethery July 25, 1955, in Dallas and to this union four children were born.
He was employed by Oak Farms and Cabells Dairies in Dallas from 1954 to 1987, Fairmount-Zarda-Roberts Dairies in Kansas City, Mo. from 1987 until he retired in 1999.
He was member of the Operating Engineers Union of Kansas City, Mo.
He and Della have owned a farm in Oregon County since 1973, and moved back to the Thomasville area after retiring in 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Della Nethery Lane; his children -- Andrea Lane Johnson of Texas and Deborah Lane Patterson and husband, William "Bud," of Blue Springs, Mo., three brothers -- Charles Lane and wife, Marie of Rockford, Ill., Oliver Lane and wife, Eulalia of Clinton, Okla., and Tom Lane of Pottsboro, Texas; two sisters - Albert "Bert" Lane of Atterberry, Texas, and Lottie Lane Brandt and husband, Gene, of Koshkonong, Mo.; grandchildren -- Tamara Johnson of Bakersfield, Calif; Scharles Patterson of Blue Springs, Mo.; Matthew Patterson of Orlando, Fla., Samantha Johnson Euless of Texas and Jamie Patterson Soldi and husband, Billy; grand-grandchildren -- Danielle Forrest, Alexis Forrest and Parker Soldi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas H. and Sophie Lane; two children- Scharlet and Diana Lane; and two sisters -- Clara Lane Noblitt and Tommie Lane Webb.
The funeral service held was Aug. 13 at Yarber Chapel in Mountain View with Chuck Lane officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery at Birch Tree, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of the Yarber Mortuary of Mountain View.
