Fulton County Hometown Health Coalition will bring national speaker Rick Bender to NAEC's Orange Room at noon March 24. The presentation is free and everyone is invited to attend. Lunch will be catered and may be purchased for $5.
Bender started chewing tobacco at age 12. At age 26 he was diagnosed with oral cancer. He lost half his jaw and most of his tongue. Since his last operation in 1990, Bender has devoted his life to educating others about smokeless tobacco. His No Snuff, Spit Tobacco Lyceums program is based in Roundup, Mont.
Bender will also address students at Salem and Viola. Because Mammoth Spring is on spring break, he will speak to the Chamber of Commerce.
