Boyce R.C. Haley, 86, of Zion, Ark., son of the late Clarence Haley and Amanda Taylor Haley, was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Evening Shade. He died April 16, 2004, in Batesville.
He married Eva Edna Miller Haley July 4, 1936, in Bonetown, Ark., and to this union two children were born. He spent his working years as a logger. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He attended Bear Creek Methodist Church and was a member of Antioch Lodge 241 for 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law -- Cathy and Mike Sharp of Evening Shade; two sisters -- Hazel Miller of Zion, and Flava Carter of Evening Shade; a brother, Earl C. Haley of Evening Shade; a daughter-in-law, Shire Ann Haley of Zion; four grandchildren -- Karin Brown, Chris Haley, Eddie Haley and William Harring- ton; and five great-grandchildren -- Hannah Brown, Johnathon Brown, Abbey Haley, Andrew Haley and Austin Harrington.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and a son, Danny Haley.
The funeral was April 18 at Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne, with Junior Wright and Gayle Johnson officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Zion with arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Dale Finley, Kenneth Frazier, Earnie Blackley, Rayburn Finley, Brent Finley and Lonnie Haley.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Haley, Ervin Ray Dover, J.W. Vest, Richard Edward, Wes Brown, T.D. Ketron and O.T. Metliff.
