Elmer Sexton was born May 10, 1914, and raised in Wild Cherry. He grew up on a farm. At an early age he started farming for himself.
He went on to become a husband, father and in later years, custodian of Viola School District. He enjoyed those years up until he lost his companion, wife and mother of his children on April 16, 1967. Again one year, one month later tragedy struck him with the loss of a cherished granddaughter.
His wife and mother of his children was Mrs. Eunice Audrey (Elliott) Sexton. His family consisted of four children -- Darrel Ray Sexton of East Wenatchee, Wash., Elmer Dale Sexton of Chatom, Ala., Ell Dee Sexton of Fayetteville and Carolyn Nadine (Sexton) Rector of Melbourne.
He continued on with his life and met, loved and on April 12, 1980, married Patricia Eastman in Wenatchee, Wash. He became a husband and stepfather to seven stepchildren -- David, Greg, Tresa, Tony, Dwayne, Karen and Tom Eastman.
