Jewel Cochran Burk Davidson's life journey began in Union, Ark., on Jan. 27, 1931, and ended in Little Rock, Ark., Aug. 24, 2004.
She led a fruitful, colorful life marked by her love of God and a desire to help others. Her persistent nature and love of learning led her to complete her nurses training while rearing nine children. Jewel's humor, love of sewing and bountiful cooking style were among the many talents she shared with her family and friends.
Survivors include one sister, Dean Kimberlin and her husband, Don, of Indianapolis, Ind.; her nine children -- Rodney Burk and his wife, Kay of Springfield, Mo., Karen Slayden and husband, Preston of Maumelle,. Ark., Janet Burk of Houston, Texas,; Sandra Rauls and husband, Art, of Fon du Lac, Wis., Joyce Turner and her husband, Mike of Kingston, Okla., Kevin Burk and wife, Suzette of Camp, Ark., Lisa Burns of Maumelle, Ark., Jackie Burk and wife, Kitty of Springfield, Mo., and Joe Burk and his wife, Sue, of Camp, Ark.; and a myriad of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Davidson; her parents, Randall and Rhea Cochran; and brothers --J.D. Cochran and Larry Cochran.
A private graveside service was held Aug. 28 at Union, Ark. Arrangements were under the direction of Huson Funeral Home of Sherwood, Ark.
