John Singleton Dangerfield, 84, of Salem, Ark., son of the late James and Rosalie Yates Dangerfield, was born on Oct. 19, 1919, in Royalton, Ill. He died Aug. 27, 2004, at Salem, Ark.
He was married to Dorothy Lee Middleswort on Feb. 23, 1956, at DeSoto County, Miss.
He spent his working years as a husband and barber.
John served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Royalton, Ill.
Survivors include his sister, Hannah Dangerfield off Salem, Ark.; a nephew, Clyde Going of Wood River, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews from Michigan, Illinois, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers and a sister.
The funeral service held was Aug. 30 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., with John Hodges officiating.
Interment was in the Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
Pallbearers included Clyde Going, Lawrence Newman, Bob Coleman, Gary Hoover, Glenn Lane and Larry Turner.
