Nellie Zelma Bohrisch, was born June 25, 1914, in Mildred, Mont., the daughter of Arthur Lewis Phillips and Bertha Riettierodt Phillips. She died April 4, 2007, in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 92.
She was united in marriage on Dec. 22, 1934, at Haverhill, Iowa, to Walter Bohrisch who preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1983.
She was a member of St.?Paul United Methodist Church in Thayer for many years and a long time active member of Thayer Fun and Friends Senior Center.
She was a licensed practical nurse and enjoyed nursing for several years. She also enjoyed knitting and spent many hours knitting hats and clothing for premature infants for St. John's and Cox hospitals.
She is survived by: four children, Barbara Muirhead and husband, Robert of Nixa, Mo., Bette Hunt of Springfield, Mo., Douglas Martin Bohrisch and wife, Anna of Thayer, Mo., and Craig Bohrisch of Thayer, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Robert, James, Beth, Ted, Suzanne, Christopher, Amy and Christin; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Clarence Riettierodt of Salem, Ore., and Ed Vogt of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, LaDora Buck of Hemitt, Calif.; several nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbnd, Walter; one son-in-lw, Donald Hunt; three grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers; and one sister.
Graveside services were held April 11 in the Rose Hill Memorial Garden at Marshalltown, Iowa. Services were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
