Theodore G. Dockins, of Calico Rock, Ark., son of the late Charles Edward Dockins and Minnie Belle Smith Dockins was born on Jan. 31, 1920, in Wideman, Ark. He died on April 27, 2004, in Calico Rock at the age of 84 years. He was married to Arcie Rhea Simmons on April 25, 1946, and to this union six children were born. After her death on Jan. 23, 1992, he married Ruby Davis on May 31, 1999, in Melbourne, Ark.
During his working years, he was a farmer and carpenter. He served in the United States Army and in World War II as a staff sergeant. He attended Dolph Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Dockins of the home; a daughter and son-in-law -- Wilda Jean and Robert Russell of Dolph; four sons and daughters-in-law -- Ronnie and Judy Dockins of Dolph, Rex and Carolyn Dockins of Iuka, Ark., Rick and Sandra Dockins of Dolph and Rocky and Waynna Dockins of Dolph; two sisters -- Carrie Owens of Forty-Four, Ark., and Zela Sanders of Calico Rock, Ark.; 13 grandchildren -- Tony Grigg, Blake Dockins, Dean Dockins, Teddy Dockins, Dwayne Dockins, Dwight Dockins, Lynn Russell, Kelt Dockins, Logan Dockins, Kendrick Dockins, Cassie Russell, Whittany Dockins and Brittany Dockins; 10 great-grandchildren; and three stepsons -- Larry Davis of Jonesboro, Ark., James Davis of White Hall, Ark., and Richard Davis of Little Rock;
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arcie Rhea Simmons Dockins; his parents; a daughter, Geneva Loraine Dockins; three brothers -- Jimmy Dockins, Charlie Dockins and Tommy Dockins; a sister, Velma Sanders; and a sepson, Jack Irving.
The funeral was April 29 at Dolph Baptist Church with Wayne Wood and Dale Chapman officiating. Burial was in Dolph Baptist Cemetery with arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.
