Paul E. Roper, 79, of Imboden, died Sept. 13, 2004, at his home in Imboden. He was born March 27, 1925, at New Madrid, Mo., to Walter Elam and Carrie Mae Mast Roper. He was a United States Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Carmelita Roper of the home; two sons -- James Patrick Roper of Cave City, and Paul Michael Roper of Ashburn, Va.; one brother, Claude Roper of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters -- Ada Belle Carey of Black Rock, and Anna Mae Owen of Murray, Ky.; two grandchildren -- John Logan Roper and Christina Michelle Roper, both of Ashburn, Va.; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John Edward Roper; two brothers -- James Walter Roper and Billy Joe Roper; and one granddaughter, Sara Dawn Roper.
Graveside services were Sept. 15 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery north of Batesville with Bro. Larry Merrell officiating. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
