Mrs. Joy H. Giger, 78, of Hardy, Ark., died Oct. 30, 2004 at Baptist Health Center in Little Rock.

Born Dec. 6, 1925, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Krouse Varner. She moved with her husband, Charles, to Hardy in 1980. They were owners of C & J appliance in Hardy and of the C & J Frozen Yogurt shop in Hardy. She was an avid bowler, serving as secretary for several different bowling leagues.

Survivors include her husband, Charles T. Giger of the home; three sons -- James Strader of Henderson, Nev., Richard Strader of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Thomas Strader of Hardy; a brother, Edward Varner of Quincy, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel.
