Danny Ray Evans, 57, son of Lossie Ehrhardt Evans and the late Hosea A. Evans was born July 13, 1947, in Myrtle, Mo. and died Oct. 18, 2004, in Joliet, Ill.
He was united in marriage July 3, 1993, in Joliet to Shirlee Smyder Trevison.
Survivors are his wife, Shirlee of the home in Joliet; two daughters -- Angela Allen and husband, Larry, of Harvey, Ark., and Lisa Leksander and husband, Rich, of Suwanee, Ga.; three grandchildren -- Ty, Taylor and Tiffany; his mother, Lossie Evans Moore and step-father, John, of Thayer, Mo.; three sisters -- Sharon Wisehart and husband, Wayne, of Asheville, N.C., Diane Todd and husband, Richard, of Alton, Mo., and Carrie Honeycutt and husband, Bill, of Thayer; a brother, Steve Evans and wife, Sarah, of Myrtle; his father-in-law, Stephen Smyder of Joliet; two step-daughters -- Tracy Paramo and husband, Armando, of Minooka, Ill., and Robin Trevison of Coal City, Ill.; a step-son Nick Trevision of Tinley Park, Ill.; four step-granddaughers -- Nadia, Kaira, Hailie and Hannah; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hosea Evans.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He later taught at Thayer High School until he began a career in the communications field. He was currently a senior manager at MCI. An avid sportsman, Danny played and coached softball for area teams but his passion was hunting with his two Brittanices, Bubba and Opie.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His services were at Carter Funeral Home Chapel Oct. 23. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Myrtle under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
