COUCH -- Couch School Superintendent Rolla Fraley discussed the upcoming Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) review and budgetary concerns at the Feb. 10 Couch School Board meeting.
School board members approved the Missouri School Board Association (MSBA) policy updates and voted to table bus bids until the next meeting. They discussed roofing needs at the school and directed the administration to seek bids for replacement of the top portion of the roof on the gym. School board members also voted to allow the administration to set the graduation date by March 1 and to hold a summer school session this year.
The building principals presented monthly attendance reports and upcoming extra-curricular and rescheduled events. School board members were informed that the next A+ meeting will be March 1.
Fraley told school board members that the school had received two printers through a grant received from the Lexmark Company. He also informed the board that more funding is available through a preschool grant and that the school has submitted an application to receive these funds. He discussed bus repairs, LP fuel usage and proposed legislative changes.
In executive session the school board voted to extend Mary Mayberry's leave through March 9 and to extend Carolyn Baker's employment through March 9. They also voted to add Elaine Hartsock's and Cindy Melton's names to the substitute teachers list.
The board voted to offer Russell Deckard and William Bull principal contracts for the 2004-05 school year.
The next regular meeting of the Couch School Board will be March 9 at 7 p.m.
