Eulah Vircie Case, 87, daughter of the late Rev. Billie Rogers and Ettie Mae McGhee Rogers, was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Myrtle, Mo., and died Feb. 1, 2004, in St. Louis, Mo. She was married Aug. 18, 1934, in Myrtle, Mo., to James William Case.
She was a seamstress, working in garment factories in St. Louis and Thayer. She also used her loving and caring talent as she worked in nursing homes both in St. Louis and Thayer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by her family and friends.
She was a faithful Christian and was a member of Thayer Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, J.L. Case and wife, Kay, of St. Ann, Mo.; one granddaughter, Cheryl Livingston and husband, Brian, of Creve Coeur, Mo.; one grandson, Steve Case and wife, Angie of Foristell, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kevin Case and Aaron Livingston; one sister, Verdie Mills and husband, Robert of Thayer, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Lovona Rogers of St. Louis, Mo., and Loretta Case of Alton, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Noah Rogers, and three sisters, Ruth Rogers, Medie Evans and Edith Pierce.
The funeral was Feb. 7 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with the Rev. Cody Freeman officiating. Burial was in Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Steve Case, Joe Pierce, Eddie Honeycutt, Brian Livingston, Don Pierce and Eddie Barnett.
