A memorial service for Sarah J. Lindemood, a resident of Summerville of Port Orange, who died Dec. 2, 2003, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., was Dec. 7, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Port Orange, with the Rev. Joe Hood officiating the service.
Mrs. Lindemood was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1997 from Cherokee Village, Ark. She was retired as director of special education for the Belton School District in Belton, Mo., and former director of Hospice in Cherokee Village. She graduated with her master's degree in special education from Drury College in Springfield, Mo. She was a member of Port Orange Presbyterian Church, the National Society of Daughter's of the American Revolution, Sugar Mill Chapter, and National Society of Colonial Dames. She loved quilting and golfing.
Survivors include her sons -- Michael of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Jim of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Tr., Port Orange, FL 32129.
