Bank offers new vacation account

Thursday, August 8, 2002

The Bank of Salem has announced products designed to help the public save for something the whole family can enjoy -- a vacation club account and a travel club.

Those interested in setting up a vacation club account can make deposits as often as they choose for any amount. Deposits will earn interest, and in June of each year the bank will issue a check to the customer.

Donna York, Bank of Salem marketing director, said this service is not just for banking customers; it's for everyone to use.

Upcoming events sponsored by the Bank of Salem include: The LA Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies in a pre-season NBA game at Alltel arena in Little Rock. Tickets and transportation cost $70 per person. A non-refundable deposit will hold a spot for those interested. Space is limited and going fast, said York.

A second trip scheduled is a seven-day Carnival Caribbean Cruise on the Conquest, which is a brand new cruise ship, stopping in ports of Cozumel, Mexico, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and the Grand Caymen Islands Aug. 3, 2003.

The Bank of Salem Travel Club is working with Angela Criss of Criss Travel Service to provide travel arrangements.

York said she welcomes suggestions from the public for additional vacation ideas.
