Neva Blanche Arnold, 91, of Alton, Mo., was born Dec. 4, 1915, on a homestead in Union County, New Mexico to Johnathan Earl Perigo and Annaliza Urton-Perrigo and died Aug. 1, 2007, at the Shady Oaks Healthcare Center in Thayer, Mo.
She was united in marriage to Clentis Glee Arnold on Aug. 7, 1935, and to this union three daughters were born.
At a young age she joined the First Christian Church.
She spent many years of her life teaching Sunday school classes at various churches. For the last several years she attended the United Methodist Church in Alton, Mo., where she had taught adult Sunday school classes and made many dear friends.
Neva was a homemaker and also spent several years testing soil for the Oregon County Extension Service. Later she ran a retail store.
One of the biggest joys of her life was getting to see her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was an avid reader her whole life and at the time of her passing was a member of the Thomasville Book Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Daisy Simmons of Alton, Mo., Joyce Davis of Bartlett, Tenn., Carolyn Rowland of Buffalo, Mo.; one brother,?Paul Perrigo of Alton; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and one brother, William Urton Perrigo.
Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at the Clary Chapel with Bro. David Scott officiating. Interment followed in the New Salem Cemetery Arrangements were under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, Mo.
Pallbearers were Harley and Dwight Davis, David and James Rowland, Michael Thiesen, Bob Curtis, Kevin Harmon and Robbie Sterner.
