Nina Maxine Secrease, of Camp, Ark., daughter of the late Royal Douglas and Flora Ida (Hays)?Nash, was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Oil Trough, Ark. She died July 30, 2007, at her home in Camp, Ark., at the age of 84.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked in housekeeping at the Fulton County Hospital for 33 years. Maxine was a member of the Salem Pentecostal Church of God.
She is survived by: four sons, Harold Beard of Fredrick, Md., Wayne Beard of Camp, Darrell Beard of Batesville, Ark., and Billy Beard of Camp; three daughters, Linda Jared of Salem, Vickie Beard of Camp, and Kathy Lunn of Salem; a brother, Loyd Nash of Cottonwood, Ariz., a sister, Alverna Cantrell of Dodge City;?a step-sister, Edith May Ransom of Allen, Texas; close family friend, ?Henry Sims of Camp; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her two husbands; her parents; a son, Freddy Beard; a sister, Lois Bernice Nash; and step-sister, Wanda Fay Clark.
Funeral services were held Aug. 2 at the Barker Funeral?Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. Winfred Franks officiating. Interment was in the Putman Cemetery at ?Pleasant Plains, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Steven Beard, Mathew Beard, Adam Beard, James Beard, Joshua Smithee and Michael Beard.
Honorary pallbearers were Howard D. Beard, Jr., Gary Wayne Beard, Mark Beard and David Beard.
