Thomas A. Floyd, 71, of Cave City died Jan. 16, 2005 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was born January 12, 1934 at Dell, Ark. to Exie M. and Exalue Brown Floyd.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran, a mechanic, truck driver, a member of VFW Post 8042 at Evening Shade, the American Legion at Williford and of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers - Leroy Floyd and an infant; a sister, Mable Eleane Weatherford.

Survivors include; his wife, Dorothy Coats Floyd of the home; a daughter, Vickie Jones of Nelsonville; four brothers - Bobby Floyd and Manuel Floyd both of Marion, Donny Floyd and Elmer Floyd both of Hot Springs; three sisters - Alice Dale of West Memphis, Judy Clark of Hot Springs and Mary Lou Dale of Marked Tree; two grandchildren; Martha Lane and Connie Masengale both of Marion; two step-grandchildren - Dwayne Jones of Marion and Deana Powell of Searcy; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Jan. 19, at Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church located at Nelsonville with Phillip Lewallen officiating. Burial followed in Spotts Cemetery located at Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers were Johnny Coates, Michael Niswonger, Trent Scat, Dwayne Jones, John Coates, W. F. Smith and Chris Morgan.

Honorary Pallbearers were Kenneth Coats and Manuel Floyd.
