Lowell Edward Zeigler, 81, of Salem, son of the late Vernon Bentley and Lillie Florence Coggins Zeigler was born Dec. 9, 1920, at Whiteflat, Texas. He departed this life Oct. 17, 2002, at Salem. He was married to Anna Ruth Williams Aug. 1, 1942, at Agnos, and to this union two children were born. He spent his working years as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a self-employed construction worker, and a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Salem Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Zeigler of Salem; one son, Wesley Zeigler of Little Rock, Ark.; one daughter, Francyne Zeigler of Mountain Home; two brothers, Ray Zeigler of Salem, and Weldon Zeigler of Heart; one sister, Lela Faye York of Sturkie; two grandchildren, James Wilmans and Jessica Russell and one great-grandson, Mason Wilmans all of Moun-tain Home; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Orville Zeigler.
Services were Oct. 20, at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, with Bro. Everett Isom, Bro. Doug Criss and Bro. David Gibson officiating. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery with arrangements by Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were James Wilmans, Kelly Zeigler, Randy Zeigler, Larry Zeigler, Jerry Zeigler, and Joe York. Honorary pallbearers were Doyle Collins, G. W. Howard, Dub Atkins, Mike Dover, and Russell Benton.
