Thayer juvenile arrested in tobacco store burglary

MAMMOTH SPRING -- Nearly two years to the day, the Mammoth Spring Tobacco Store was broken into and burglarized for the second time.

According to Mammoth Spring Police Officer Jamie Tournbough, when store owner Linda Crase arrived at the store in the early morning Dec. 20 she noticed that the front, glass door of the business had been broken.

Tournbough said as Crase entered the store she discovered several items missing and called the police.

Tournbough said in all over $1,000 in cigarettes and other tobacco items were stolen from the store along with about $270 in change.

The officer said a 17-year -old Thayer juvenile has been arrested in connection with the incident and charged with commercial burglary and theft of property.
