Suspects face drug charges in county

OREGON COUNTY -- Officers with the Oregon County Sheriff's Department report the arrest of several suspects on various charges.

Deborah L. Wilkerson, 34, of Alton was arrested last week on a misdemeanor charge of passing a bad check. She pleaded guilty in court, paid restitution and was released.

Deborah A. Parker, 47, of West Plains was arrested last week on a failure to appear on a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance. Parker was released after posting a $5,000 bail.

Lindsey D, Briggs, 22, of Cartersville, Ill., was arrested last week on a felony charge of passing a bad check. She pleaded guilty in court, paid restitution and was released.

Chad S. Carey, 27, of Alton was arrested last week on a charge of burglary. According to a sheriffs department report, on Oct. 14, the suspect allegedly entered a building owned by Randy Simmons. Carey posted a $5,000 bail and is scheduled to be in court Feb. 11.

Brandon D, Bell, 37, of Alton has been arrested on an Oregon County warrant for a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident. On Dec. 26 Bell struck a vehicle on CC Highway near County Road 216 causing an injury to a person in the other vehicle according to a report. Bell posted $2,500 bail and is scheduled to be in court Feb. 18.

Dixie Johnson, 29, of Thayer has been arrested on a probation violation and is jailed without bail.

According to Oregon County Sheriff Tim Ward, Johnson was on probation after a conviction on charges of possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
