Jewel B. Kent Blankenship, 90, daughter of the late John F. and Rosa D. Smith Kent, was born on May 11, 1912, in Newburg, Ark. She departed this life Jan. 4, 2003, in Newburg. Jewell was married to Lonnie T. Blankenship Aug. 5, 1933 at Chapel Hill. During her working years she was a school teacher and was also a postmaster at Forty-Four, Ark. She was a member of Calico Rock Church of Christ.
Survivors include one brother, Herman J. Kent of East Wenatchee, Wash.; one nephew, Kenny Kent of Melbourne, Ark.; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Ethel Brockwell; one brother Junie B. Kent.
Graveside services were Jan. 6 at New Liberty Cemetery with Kenny Kent officiating. Interment was in the New Liberty Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were David Hoskinds, Aaron Hoskinds, Adam Hoskinds, Jerry Blank-enship, Loren Blankenship, and Newt Blankenship.
Honorary pallbearer was John Kent.
