Lloyd Almond Cotter, 86, of Gepp, Ark., was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Gepp, Ark., the son of the late Gilbert Marven and Lemma Johns Cotter. He died May 23, 2004, at Salem, Ark.
He married Adlee Velna Barker Nov. 11, 1946, at Viola, Ark., and was married for 45 years before she preceded him in death.
He spent his working years as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a farmer, operating a dairy and beef cattle farm near Gepp.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, serving in North Africa and Sicily. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church at Gepp.
Survivors include three sons -- Rick Cotter of Denton, Texas, Doug Cotter of Williford, Ark., and Mel Cotter of Gepp, Ark.; three brothers -- Vernon Cotter of Gepp, Darrell Cotter of Gepp and Kermitt Cotter of Gepp; three sisters -- Faye Thomas of Seattle, Wash., Alcie Thompson of Everett, Wash., and Chloecele McGee of Gepp, Ark.; seven grandchildren -- Austin Cotter, April Chesser, Justin Cotter, Cody Cotter, Michael Cotter, Scott Cotter and Jesse Cotter; three great-grandchildren -- Dawson Adlee Chesser, Dalee Jo Chesser and Dylan Jacob Cotter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepmother Bessie Cotter; two brothers -- Norman Cotter and Noel "Joe" Cotter; a sister, Diane Cotter, and an infant son, Ernest Cotter.
The funeral was May 26 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Duane Flood officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, of Gepp, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
Pallbearers were Austin Cotter, Cody Cotter, Justin Cotter, Roger Garner, Gary Cotter and Calvin Hale.
Honorary pallbearers were Jermey Chesser, Ordene Barker, Bob Barker, Scott Cotter and Michael Cotter.
