Beverly Rose Russell, 69, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., passed away Dec. 27, 2002, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark. She was born April 7, 1933, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of James Myron Irwin and Zola Arletta Clark Irwin. She was married to George Russell on July 3, 1951, in Springfield, Ill. She retired from the Illinois State Police as a supervisor in the microfilm department. She belonged to the Horseshoe Benders and the Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Springfield Chapter of the Sweet Adelines.Survivors include her husband, George Russell of the home; one son, Dennis George Russell of Springfield, Ill.; one daughter, Tracey Lynnette Blackburn of Springfield, Ill.; one sister, Janet Fisher of Cherokee Village; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Rhonda Kay Russell.Services were Dec. 31, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Horseshoe Bend with Rev. Everett Isom and Rev. Allen Bonsall officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Ill. on Jan. 2, 2003, with Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
