Tonya Hobbs, chairman of the board of Bank of Thayer, announced that her son, Adam Courter, has joined the bank's staff and will serve as assistant vice president/manager trainee.
Courter is the great-grandson of the late W.K. and Nellie B. Hobbs and the nephew of Barbara Hobbs Simpson, vice chairman of the board, making him the fourth generation of the Hobbs family in ownership and management of Bank of Thayer.
He will be working in all areas of banking, gaining the "hands-on" knowledge to become the future leader of the bank.
Courter graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor of science degree in finance. He was previously employed with New York Life in Tampa, Fla.
Courter has been actively involved with the Tampa Jaycees, a member of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce and ambassador for the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce.
He said he looks forward to working and serving in the community.
