Robert "Bob" Smith, was born the son of Imogene Langley Peace, on Nov. 1, 1951, in Thayer, Mo., and died Nov. 28, 2004, in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 53 years.
He was united in marriage July 27, 1969, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., to Sheila McGhee.
He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for many years.
He volunteered a lot of his time helping his wife at the Fun and Friends Senior Citizens Center in Thayer.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Clifton Masonic Lodge in Thayer.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila of the home; one daughter, Nikki Clark of Thayer; one son, Roy Smith and wife, Jill, of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren -- Aleasha Clark and Robert Andrew Smith; his mother and father, Imogene and Ray Peace of Thayer; four brothers -- Ed Smith of Thayer, Sony Smith and wife, Marla of Denver, Colo., Bill Pitchford and wife, Cindy, of Thayer; and Jack Peace and wife, Leanne, of Columbia, Mo.; special cousins, James and Reva Langley of Jonesboro, Ark.; Dorothy Meeks of Barnhart, Mo.; Peggy Kelley of Thayer, Bobby Tucker and wife, Gina, of Thayer, and Jackie Cowen of Springfield; one brother-in-law, Densal McGhee of Thayer; a special friend, Nancy Ames; and various other beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Keith, who died Feb. 5, 2004.
Memorial services were Nov. 30 at the Christian Activity Center in Thayer. Arrangements were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
