Hazel Shelton, 82, of Alton, Mo., was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Shannon County, Mo., and died Nov. 25, 2004, at her home.
She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include six children -- Leroy "Pete" Shelton and wife, Donna, of Pueblo, Colo, Melba Walker and husband, Johnny, of West Plains, Mo., Jerry Shelton and wife, Connie, of West Plains, Mo., Janet Miller and husband, Jack, of Thomasville, Mo., Brenda Murphy and husband, Galeon, of Alton, Mo.; Roger Shelton and wife, Becky, of Thomasville, Mo.; 13 grandchildren -- Trudy Gamblin, Shawn West, Leigh Ann Shelton, Melissa Murphy Dill, Pamela Miller Crews, Jamie Shelton, David Miller, Jeff Shelton, Scott Shelton, Jared Shelton, Rebecka Shelton Walters, Melanie Shelton Ordahl and Lee Shelton; a brother, Hubert Conway and wife, Nellie, of Mountain View, Ark.; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents -- John Henderson Conway and Abbie Gale Kuntz Conway; her husband, Gerald Leroy Shelton; two sisters -- Bessie Lanham and Ethel Gore; a brother, Arnie Conway; and a granddaughter, Tammy Henry.
The funeral service was held Nov. 29 at the Clary Chapel with Darrell Strain officiating. Interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, Mo.
