Flino Caraway, 85, of Melbourne, son of the late Thomas and Lizzie Winkle Caraway was born Aug. 8, 1916 in Lafferty, Ark. He died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002. He was married to Lillian Dover Nov. 22, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant, Ark., and to this union three children were born. During his working years he was a farmer, but was also enmployed by ConAgra Frozen Foods for 20 years. He was a member of the Finley Creek Baptist Church.Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Faye Lassiter of North Little Rock, and Janice and Lowell Wheelis of Melbourne; one son and daughter-in-law, Delmas and Janet Caraway of Oak Grove, Mo.; two sisters, Marie Dover and Grace Finley both of Batesville; one step-sister, Jean Sears of Houston, Texas; one brother, Paul Caraway of North Little Rock; one step-brother, Amos Sipe of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren: Joel Wheelis, Brad Wheelis, Kelly Lassiter, Jeffrey Lassiterk, Kne Caraway, Tracy Caraway, Suzan Whittenburg; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Frank Caraway; one sister, Debbie Caraway; and one granddaughter, Teresa Caraway.Services were Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Melbourne with Steve Stevenson and Doyle Robertson officiating. Burial was in th Finley Creek Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.Pallbearers were Joel Wheelis, Brad Wheelis, Kelly Lassiter, Jeffrey Lassiter, Ken Caraway, Ronnie Caraway, and Mark Whittenburg.
