Spring River Shrine Club installs new officers

The new officers of the Spring River Shrine Club were installed recently. They are President Ken Poulson, First Vice President Bob Newman, Second Vice President Dan Wright, Secretary Stan Jagow, Treasurer Cyril Bertram and Chaplain Jerry Reynolds.Poulson gave "Spark Plug Awards" to members who have demonstrated enthusiasm and dedication to achieve the goals of the club. The first award was given to John Paul Reque.In January the club voted to donate $1,050 to the St. Louis Shrine Hospital for two wheelchairs needed to handle the special apparatus used in treating spinal and leg correction conditions. Poulson and Jagow presented the check to Chairman of the Board Ray Radliff and Hospital Admin-istrator Carolyn Golden at the January board meeting in St. Louis.The Spring River Shrine Board held a meeting on Feb. 6 and discussed many items that will be presented to the club at its next meeting.The Feb. 14 meeting of the club will be at Clyde's Chuck Wagon starting at 4 p.m. Bob Booth will present a program on the Spring River Ambulance Service. The Ladies of the Fez will also meet at 4 p.m. and join the men for supper and the program shortly after 5 p.m.There are rumors that Valentine gifts will be presented to the ladies at the meeting. We look forward to seeing all Shriners and their ladies there.Call Poulson at 257-5623 for dinner reservations for the meeting on the 14th.
